About Donte Whitner

Donte Whitner (born July 24, 1985 in Cleveland, Ohio) is an American football safety who currently plays for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League. He was originally drafted by the Bills in the first round (eighth overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Ohio State University. His brother, Lindsey Witten, is a DE for the University of Connecticut. Donte Whitner was arrested in downtown Cleveland early Saturday morning in April after police tried to break up a "near riot" in front of the House of Blues.

Police used a Taser to subdue Whitner, who was arrested for aggravated disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Whitner was released from his holding cell Saturday afternoon. Police Lt. Thomas Stacho said charges have not been filed
